Dr. Kara Knight is a clinical social worker, therapist, learner, and mental health advocate. Kara is passionate about building hope in others, while normalizing mental health needs that are differentiated to each person. Kara believes that each person has incredible strengths, gifts, and talents that can support them through their unknown and struggles they may gave.
Kara is a true learner through and through and believes in the power of always pushing yourself to follow your heart. Kara has served as a therapist, teacher, mentor teacher/technology integrationist, and school leader. Kara received her Masters of Clinical Social Work degree (MSW) from Saint Louis University. Kara has also received the following degrees: Doctorate of Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), Masters of Arts in Educational Administration, and her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Each degree has given Kara the perspective to always learn, evolve, and give back with the skills you have. Kara has won various awards and distinctions throughout her career such as: Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society from Saint Louis University (2023), Midwest Spotlight Educator (2017) and Beginning Outstanding Teacher in Missouri (2013).
Kara is the author of two books, “Unleash Talent: Bringing Out the Best in Yourself and the Learners You Serve” and “The Confident School Leader: 7 Keys in Implementing Change,” was published as well. Dr. Knight has presented at many conferences, such as the Learning and the Brain Conference, hosted by MIT and Harvard University.
