The above idea is one of my favorite points in my book Unleash Talent. Thank you to Jamie Chernault for sharing her thoughts on this excerpt, and this image, on Twitter.
We are not here on this world by accident. I truly believe that we were gifted with the world, and the world was gifted with each of us.
With that said, some days we do not feel like we are very gifted. It is hard enough to feel like we are being our best selves. On hectic days, it may feel like we are giving more than we are receiving in return. When this happens, you feel like you want to press the reset button because you need rest, you need rejuvenation, and you need to feel like yourself again. Although the mind tends to drift to remember all of the things that went wrong in a certain day, it is imperative that we also help ourselves remember what went right.
Look through the noise. Sift through the loud. Tell your brain to turn off the access chatter that does not serve you. Turn away from the negativity and lean into your happy place.
There is good in the world and it is abundant. I am here to tell you that you are part of what is good in the world. You were gifted with attributes, love, and characteristics that are unique to you, unmatched to anyone else in the world.
Here are two questions for each of us to reflect upon:
- What makes you feel fulfilled. . . and are you taking the time do that?
- In what capacity are you giving your gifts (your love, passion, talents, care) to others?
Rather than hoping for a better you and a better day- CREATE it. We cannot hope for the world to change because we have the ability to be the change. It starts with you and me.
Lean closer to those that continue to help you find your best self and be that person for YOU and others as well. The world needs those who are kind and those who are willing to notice the good in other people.
